I’ve had a few conversations this week that all circled the same idea: how to stay with the process instead of rushing the outcome. One of them was with a past client, Shola. During a virtual coffee chat, she said something simple: “I’m in good energy.” I loved the way she said it. It means she’s paying attention to the process of what actually keeps her in sound mind, body and spirit. Which brings me to today. This morning, I didn’t wake up in “good energy.” It’s the first Wednesday of the year. The middle of the week. Hump day, if you will. Hopefully you’re not feeling that. I’ll be honest: I was. I’ve been having a hard time getting back into my yoga rhythm after the new year. I skipped Monday. I seriously considered skipping this morning too. I didn’t. And I’m glad I didn’t. My teacher, Kimmarie, started class with the simplest reminder: Back to basics. Nothing flashy. Nothing extreme. Just longer holds. Fewer distractions. A quiet return to fundamentals. It felt like a clear lesson in process over outcome. For someone with a sprinter mentality—who loves a beginning, middle, and end—that can be surprisingly challenging. So here’s a tool to help stay in good energy—not just think about it. The Daily Anchor Once a day, choose one ordinary thing you’re already doing:
And in that moment, ask yourself one question: What am I practicing right now? Not:

You don’t change the activity. You change what it’s for. And slowly, the work stops being something you push through and starts being something that carries you. That’s how momentum becomes sustainable. Not because you’re moving faster— but because you’re finally moving with yourself instead of against yourself. For me, staying in good energy usually comes from tending all three parts of the equation: r me, staying in good energy usually comes from tending all three parts of the equation:
Some days it’s a conversation like the one I had this week. Some days it’s yoga. Some days it’s simply noticing my breath before reacting. One step. Then the next fitting step. Padam, Padam. Until next time, |

Hey Reader, This past week wasn’t about moving faster for me. It was about choosing more deliberately. I had a lot of irons in the fire...all of them asking for my attention at once. I’ve found that late January has a way of revealing what actually deserves our energy — not in theory, but in practice. ere are three things that helped me stay clear, grounded, and moving without forcing momentum. 1. A question that keeps changing my decisions (The KEEP Framework — in case you missed it) Earlier...
Hey Reader, Hey [First Name], Something Sarah shared recently got me thinking about a question most of us never actually ask: What still earns its place? She’s been going through old photo albums from the 60s, 70s, and 80s — sorting pictures, noticing which ones still hold meaning, and which ones she’s been carrying forward simply because they’ve always been there. And it landed with me — especially as an only child who will eventually inherit a lifetime of other people’s “stuff.” But here’s...
Hey Reader, I want to share a little more of what last week actually looked like... not the polished version, the real one. I didn’t plan on starting the new year redesigning all three of my websites. But as I sat with what I wanted for this year and the direction I’m moving in, it became clear that I needed a stronger foundation before anything else. From the outside, it probably looked like I was “just working on my websites.” What it felt like was investigative journalism. At one point I...
